Burnout and Somatic Healing for High-Achieving Women

Why you can’t cope like you used to, and what your body is trying to tell you.

Many high-performing women reach a point where they simply run out of time and energy. Despite being capable, successful and driven, they find themselves facing overwhelm, anxiety, burnout, self-doubt and stress-related illness.

Burnout is increasingly common among working women, with Gallup research showing that women experience it at higher levels than men. Many are balancing leadership roles, demanding careers or the responsibilities of running a business, all while under constant pressure to stay productive, perform and meet expectations. Alongside this is the often-invisible load of caring for others, leaving little time or energy to recharge. Add hormonal changes to the mix, and eventually something has to give.

In this experiential workshop, you’ll explore why logic and willpower alone aren’t enough to break the cycle. Drawing on nervous-system science and trauma-informed approaches, we’ll look at how chronic stress can cause the body to say no even when the mind wants to keep going, how hormonal shifts can surface survival patterns formed early in life, and why those patterns keep running on autopilot until we learn to work with the body rather than against it.

Rather than simply learning the theory, you’ll be invited to experience it. Through guided visualisation, somatic exercises and mindset practices, you’ll explore how thoughts, emotions and physical sensations interact, and you’ll discover simple ways to regulate your nervous system, reconnect with your body’s signals and respond with greater awareness.

This workshop meets you in both of your roles. The practices support your own wellbeing, and they deepen how you understand the high-achieving women in your care. If you work with clients who are capable, driven and quietly running on empty, you’ll recognise them here, and you’ll leave with language and tools you can bring into that work.

  • Why so many high-achieving women suddenly feel they can’t cope like they used to
  • How chronic stress, burnout, hormonal shifts and trauma can keep the body stuck in survival mode
  • Why healing takes more than insight; it takes the inner safety to feel what you’ve been avoiding
  • How somatic practices regulate the nervous system, support emotional healing and improve wellbeing
  • Practical tools to reconnect with yourself, reduce overwhelm and respond to your body’s warning signs with greater awareness
